The print "Fire in the Sky", from the original painting, is a scene of a fiery sunset from Mt. Burdell in Marin County, California. I painted this scene at the end of a warm day in the summer after a rare summer rain had fallen and the clouds were beginning to clear as the sun was moving towards the horizon. The result was a magnificent sunset that illuminated the whole landscape in a warm rosy tone that also brought the clouds in the lower elevation into a less intense but equally beautiful shade of purple.
