Golden Ridgelines
"Golden Ridgelines" is a print of a scene from the top of Big Rock Ridge in Marin County, California. With the sun low in the sky the ridgelines become distinct from one another with the furthest ridges displaying a glow of light illuminated from the haze in the air created by the Pacific Ocean just a few miles away. This side of the ridge, where the trees are sparce, offers an open a vast view looking across the county in all directions. In this print, you can see the ruggedness of the west Marin hills on the left and the large open area of Nicasio Valley with Nicasio Lake appearing from behind the ridge on the right. Being up on Big Rock ridge in the late summer is dry and hot, but the views are always fantastic and at this time of year the light in the late afternoon is filtered and beautiful.
