Granite Wonder
The Print "Granite Wonder" is an image of Nevada Falls (a 594-foot high waterfall) on the Merced River in Yosemite National Park, California. It is located below the granite dome, Liberty Cap, at the west end of Little Yosemite Valley. This painting is a scene in the late afternoon, when the light was coming in low through the valley and the ridges in the background were in the shadows. You can see an almost purple glow in the air while the trees below enjoy the last bit of light from the day. I wnated to show how the suns rays light up the waterfall and Liberty Cap as if they are in the spotlight and taking center stage to the painting.
