Hillside of Lupine
The print "Hillside of Lupine" is a scene, from an original painting, of a spring bloom of lupine and California poppies blanketing a hillside among the oak trees in a grassy meadow. The grasses this time of year are ablaze with bright greens and the flowers seem to be illuminated and glow among the greens of the grass. This painting was fun for me to paint. It felt like there were never enough of the lupines on the hillside and when I put the poppies in it just made the lupine stand out more.
