Late Afternoon Shadows
The print "Late Afternoon Shadows" is a scene I painted from Mt. Burdell in Marin County, California. This was a study in light and shadow as the image takes place in the last few minutes of the day's light and the shadows are starting to overtake the remaining sun on the slopes of the hills. The darkness of the shadowed areas adds contrast and help enhance the last bit of sun giving a balance and feeling to the image as if the night sky will soon be ready to make its appearance.
