This is a print of the highest peak in Marin County, California, Mt. Tamalpais, this was painted from the southern side of the mountain from across Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It is a scene from the summer during the later afternoon when the highlights of the ridges are defined by the shadows falling away from the sun's light. The golden summer grasses shine in the sun while the mountains forest covered flanks relish in their green redwood canopy. This is truly a micro-climate wonderland.
