The painting "Sculpted Cliffs" is a scene from the coastline of Point Reyes National Seashore. This painting transpires in the late afternoon during the time of day the light becomes very filtered and the shadows begin to transfom the landscape. I have always been drawn to the cliffs of Point Reyes in the evening because of the orange hue they display with such luminance as the sun makes it's finale departure of the day. They are accompanied with the tail end of the Pacific waves as they softly roll in to their last stop on the California coastal sands.
