Sheltered Cove
This is a print of China Beach in Carmel, California. I was instantly drawn to this area because of its beauty and how still and calm the water was on this day. Because of its unique position to the ocean, the water here can be extremely clear and the light-colored sand helps the water obtain a beautiful turquois glow usually seen in tropical settings. I loved painting this because among the rocky shoreline and the cypress trees there lies this very peaceful cove with its seaweed very gently swaying in the current as if time were irrelevant.
