This is a print of "The Mossy Forest" and in this scene the fog has just started to lift and the sun comes thru just enough to illuminate the bright green moss and filtered enough not to cast any shadows in the woods. The redwoods stand at the edge of this enchanted grove as if they are guarding this fragile landscape. Here, there is plenty of moisture from the seasonal fog for the mushrooms to grow and the red-belly newts to scurry across the forest floor. And if you look hard enough, you might even see a tree frog sitting on a rock trying to warm up in the sun.
