West Marin Ridgelines
The print "West Marin Ridgelines" is a scene from the top of Big Rock Ridge in late autumn at the time of day when the sun has a wonderful seasonal filtered light and the afternoon haze covers the landscape creating a wonderful diffusion of light across the ridges. The soft light blankets the hillsides as the shadows grow long as the sun travels to the horizon. This painting was a great practice in the interaction of the light and shadows in a season that otherwise has somewhat muted colors on the hillsides.
